You've blocked something that shouldn't be blocked

Application blocking works by providing a list of the applications to be blocked to the LANDesk Software Monitor service in each agent. The list is updated and reports of what's been blocked are sent back to the core during any vulnerability scan which includes the Blocked Apps channel.

  1. Open the Console and navigate to the Security & Patch Manager tool.
  2. Locate the vulnerability describing your application; This may be in Detected or Scan, depending on timing. Setting the Type to Blocked Apps may help filter the list; also note the search box.
  3. Drag it to Do Not Scan. The Unassigned folder will have the same affect, but Do Not Scan lets other administrators know this was a conscious decision. New vulnerabilities are automatically placed into the Unassigned folder.
  4. Trigger a vulnerability scan of the agents. This can be done in two ways:
    1. For a single machine, right-click it and select Security/Compliance Scan Now, then pick a Scan & Repair Setting which includes Blocked Apps from the drop down.

    2. For a large group of machines, go to Security & Patch Manager, click the arrow-on-a-clock button, then Security Scan, then Scheduled Task and select a Scan & Repair Setting which includes Blocked Apps from the drop down. This will create a Scheduled Task, which you can drag your computers into before right-clicking and choosing Start Now.
