LANDesk 8.8 OSD using Windows PE 2.1 (v2.1) by Charles Tank — last modified 2009-04-30 07:25
New version - Files, documentation and implementation script included. With the introduction of newer machines in the market, customers are continuously challenged with developing ways to deploy operating system images using LANDesk. In particular, customers are sometimes finding it difficult to update their current Windows PE (LANDesk) image with new drivers to accommodate the successful deployment of operating system images. Windows PE 2.1 (Vista PE) provides better support for these types of situations. This is the reason I have developed this method of using Windows PE 2.1 in a LANDesk 8.8 environment. Please note that the methods described herein or in the attached document are not supported by LANDesk nor by its channel partners. It should also be noted that the implementation and use of said methods are at the customer’s risk
Rename Computers in OSD, Before Image is Applied by Dan Pixley — last modified 2009-08-18 21:04
This is a link to my blog post about a VBScript, and later an AutoIt script that extends the functionality of the original VBScript, that allows a technician to enter a name for the computer, select a domain (my environment has multiple domains), and select a LANDesk Agent Configuration all before the imaging process begins. The scripts provided are specific to my workplace, but I try to explain them so that others can take advantage of the techniques I am using to deploy Sysprep images at my job.
