There is a note in the instructions not to delete the ini file that is used in this hack. It says "I haven't tested what happens...my guess is that it's bad news."
Well, just in case you're curious, I have found out what happens.. a nuke and pave is the end result... I had deployed myself a new agent and it wiped out the ini file from my ldlogon dir that I forgot was still in there from testing it. Lo and behold, the first time i locked my workstation after that, I had a hard crash and a BSOD. Then, winlogon.exe kept causing a BSOD because it cannot run without this ini file. Not even in safe mode. Repairing XP was unsuccessful. My Novell client was totally butchered.
I am very happy I back up all my stuff to the network drives.... now I guess I have a nice clean install of windows! Anyway just thought I'd share this."
LDMS 8.8 will obviate the need for this tool anyway, but in the meantime, you might want to investigate super-hiding. http://www.droppedpackets.org/agent-modifications/hide-the-client-directory/
Modern psychology takes completely for granted that behavior and neural
function are perfectly correlated, that one is completely caused by the
other. There is no separate soul or lifeforce to stick a finger into the
brain now and then and make neural cells do what they would not otherwise.
Actually, of course, this is a working assumption only. ... It is quite
conceivable that someday the assumption will have to be rejected. But it
is important also to see that we have not reached that day yet: the working
assumption is a necessary one and there is no real evidence opposed to it.
Our failure to solve a problem so far does not make it insoluble. One cannot
logically be a determinist in physics and biology, and a mystic in psychology.
